Eagle Maritime Consultants was founded in 2008 by Mr. Jacob Koshy who began his career in the proliferous US - Russia grain business and today is an expert in his field of work with a background of extensive experience in marine cargo surveying.

The initial business consisted of Fumigation Suitability of Ships and Stevedore Damage Protection / Mitigation assignments. The 24/7/365 availability of our services soon resulted in a rapid increase and the founding of Eagle Maritime Consultants incorporated in Houston, Texas. The rapid expansion required suitable manning of Class I Mariners with business extending into the Project cargo and over-dimensional / heavy-lift cargo business. Our main clients were from the Oil and Gas, Chemical, Power, and EPC Companies. EMCI was a premier Company in the Marine Surveying Industry.

Along with the staff of Master Mariners and Chief Engineers, our expanded disciplines required Naval Architects and we were able to increase our staffing requirements with graduates from the nearby A&M Marine Campus in Galveston, Texas with EMCI being the first to employ a female surveyor! Ten years of robust growth saw the next twenty years' rapid expansion with offices Nationwide and the development of offshore branches in the Middle East and Australasia.
